happy girl.
i had thai today for the first time since i've been in colorado. it was better than i could have imagined. what's more, it was even good cold, for dinner. and that's something.
then we found a pretty incredible thrift store. leah and i each got polaroid cameras for under $4.
then i stood in line for 3 hours to vote. and it was worth every second (though i will readily admit how grateful i was for my ipod and bukowski).

cog.
so we spent my birthday weekend at 14,110 feet, 17˚F (10˚F wind chill), with 50 mph winds.
we took the train up to the pikes peak summit today. these are the only shots we took outside, looking down on colorado springs, and nearly all the way to kansas. it wasn't so much the thin air, cold air or wind that made us look like this. it was mostly the sand embedding itself in our skin. regardless, it was awesome.

three great things.
1. it snowed this week! (and i only got one crappy picture, below)
2. my birthday is this weekend. and my sister's too!
3. 'roid week starts monday!!!!!
(greatness is directly related to the number of exclamation points needed)
i watched the movie snowcake last night. it was pretty great, too. so i guess four great things, not three.

three day weekends
pro: THREE days.
con: bank account.
bleh.
i have a whole heap of things to get done today, none of which i've had any intention of doing since i woke up. time to get to it, i suppose.
i think (and sort of hope) this is my last long weekend, so im going to try to take advantage of it. without, you know, spending any money. at all.

warm coat day.
as per jessica's suggestion, i've started making a list of things that i'm not going to let myself fret over.
#1 being embarrassed.
(it covers a lot more than you might think: the downstairs neighbors hearing me jump rope, being more aggressive with strangers than i normally might be, hearing myself say "hook-on wieners" several times a day, taking stool samples to the vet, not being able to get my face to completely clear up, unintentional blushing, etc...)

not sleeping.
rawrg.
plus side: 3 day weekends are nice.

she winked?
she winked! twice!
i'm sorry, lady, but that's ridiculous. and frankly, i find it a little insulting that she's continuing the "nucular" fiasco.
here's something.
