you can hear them bugling :)

awesome. also scary.

hot tub! pumpkin pie! canasta!

nate, leah, whitney and i went up to estes park yesterday.

we stayed in a fancy cabin.

we ate a lot of really good food.

we watched several herds of elk, and heard them bugle.

we stayed up late sitting in the hot tub.

we stayed up even later playing canasta and eating pie.

we slept in bunk beds.

we got up early (me: 5:30, nate and leah: 6:30, whitney: missed the whole thing) to sit in the hot tub again and watch the sun rise.

we took a bagillion photos (me: 166, leah: unknown)

we came home. reluctantly.

proof

i'm typing without using my left index finger. it's raw and bloody and quite sore. such is the life of makin' teeth, i suppose. ugh.

my big news for today is two fold (though neither of which are very newsworthy):

1. quigley and ingrid are sharing occupancy in the same room, sans hissing/growling. they even almost played together yesterday. almost. this also means that quigley has now decided to join us down on ground level, after over a week of sequestering herself on top of the kitchen cabinets.

2. this one involves ingrid and the litterbox, and is best left at that. let's just say it's very good news. for me, at least.

a few of my friends and i are planning a little weekend getaway in the next couple weeks to estes park. we found cabins with hot tubs + full on fall in some serious mountains + elk buggling = hell yes.

clearly.

not to state the obvious or anything, but i think i moved at the right time...

(screen grab current to time of post)

as of midnight (MT), jeff, lola and stuart had no power, but were otherwise safe.

officially a coloradan

i got a new phone today. and a new phone number. a local one.
also, i registered to vote here.
i suppose all that's left is a new driver's license, but i'll be procrastinating a bit on that one.

ingrid and i went to the vet for a checkup today. all is well.
quigley still hates her, and has been on top of the kitchen cabinets for almost a week.

i bought bright blue sweatpants today.

tomorrow is canasta/twin peaks night, which are my favorites.

the 400 blows

so, young man, what are you gonna do while you skip school today?

oh, i dunno. probably steal a typewriter and run through a big flock of pigeons. i'll probably skip and be french a lot, too.

the 400 blows. GREAT movie.
it made me urgently need to find a photobooth for some reason. and you know what? i did!

just venting.

websites that require windows in order to use all or part of them (namely, my car and health insurance sites. different companies. also netflix.) are just itching for an ass kicking.

i mean, really.

a few ways i should try to be more like a goat.

"It lasts only a second, then the fainting goats bounce back on their feet and go about their goatly business - climbing boulders, chewing on clothing and flowers, begging for Honeycomb cereal treats, urinating on themselves to attract mates."

(from an article about fainting goats in the colorado springs gazette)

down the rabbit hole.

one of my projects this weekend, for this.
