slowly, painfully, all my favorite polaroid cameras are dying. this morning the spectra took it's last breath, so to speak. on the bright side, the sx-70s will soon be undergoing some major pola-surgery... hopefully at least one will emerge in working order.

another great book has been made into another disappointing movie.

however: found another great thai place in town, got 2 blisters, saw a gigantic praying mantis, and laughed a lot. a lot.

from the "good idea" file

i'm going to start a "how to have the really awkward conversation without actually having it" greeting card line for etsy. with leah's help, of course.

suggestions welcome.

so my last great hope, the lovely camera that i bought to replace that beautiful creature which died on christmas day, has decided to stick its head in the sand. luckily, it's not completely inoperative. i've been able to rig it a bit so that i'm still able to focus and shoot, but it's clearly on its way out. and that just makes me sad. i suppose another camera hunt will soon be on the menu :(

ooookay. this has every possibility of sounding crazy, but... yeah. so i've been collecting dead bulbs at work for the last few weeks. people bring them in all the time to show us what they need, and i stick them in a little box under the table (with a nice label reading "erin's dead bulbs" even!) with the idea that at some point i would think of something brilliant to do with all of them. because seriously, they are awesome. all kinds of bizarre shapes and sizes and colors. and then. and then. tonight i watched a deleriously wonderful movie, the bothersome man. can i just say... those norweigens are freaking genius.

... it was kind of like the first time i watched broken english. all of a sudden there's something in the background and you can't stop staring at it or thinking about it and you have to pause the movie for TWENTY minutes to fully grasp the amazingness.

p.s. the rest of the movie is actually really great, too.

peter sagal on iowa's new 911 texting option:

"omg. shot in face...lol"

was up most of the night working on a crazy amount of orders and watching things we lost in the fire.... by far the single most depressing movie i've ever seen.

note to self.

does anybody remember where this came from? i found it about 5 years ago on a girl's comic site, but have since forgotten who and where to locate her. in any case, it continues to be an excellent pick-me-up. it always tells me exactly what i need to hear, when i need to hear it. and it doesn't hurt that we have the same name.
