finished up mother night this morning. it didn't seem like typical vonnegut in many ways, but i really liked it. also watched sliding doors last night... not sure how i missed it. i remember it being advertised all over the place when i was in college, just never managed to see it for some reason. was pretty good.

i was looking through some old posts, and saw the "no one has more placentas than us. we're the house of placenta" quote from last year, when i was working at the gallery in houston. it still makes me giggle. a whole whole lot.

i sure miss that job.
a whole whole lot.

polished off down and out in paris and london this morning, which was a pretty sad affair. not at all on the scale of jude the obscure or the sorrows of young werther, but depressing nonetheless. and so, i'm moving on to my favorite man of the last century.

this is turning out to be an excellent holiday weekend. lazing about, mostly. catching up on crafty projects, staying in my pajamas most of the day, hours upon hours of arrested development. thai tea and orwell in the rain was quite nice, too.

i watched the curious case of benjamin button- very long, but very good, i thought. also saw the last word, which was surprisingly hilarious at times, and prince caspian, which was disappointing.

finished reading watchmen today. can't decide if i want to see the movie or not, as i've heard both positive and negative things about its adaptation. in general, i have a strong dislike for books made into movies. but there are always exceptions.

soooo looking forward to a 3-day weekend! i have a million things i need to get done.

fun facts

i have taken more polaroids since i moved to colorado (10 months ago) than not only the entire time i was in houston, but also more than my 8+ years of pola-shooting pre-houston.

it seems that as soon as i heard the news of polaroid's demise (and promptly moved somewhere worthy of photographing) i couldn't keep myself from using as much film as possible. luckily, i've got the *new* instant film to look forward to, once i'm out. thank goodness. cause i'd sure be a sad sack if that wasn't the case.

it seems i have a hard time getting much of anything done on saturdays. it seems i have a hard time getting out of my pajamas on saturdays. so it goes. this is what saturdays are made for: sleeping in, cuddling kittens, keeping the windows wide open, listening to my stories on npr, and getting nothing done apparently.

nate and leah have rented a little loft apartment in old colorado city while they wait for the whole house-buying situation to work itself out. im pretty excited about it. they're going to be waaaaaaay closer to me now, and in an idealic area: a loft above some quirky shops in pretty much the best part of the city. they're walking distance to my favorite thai place. so that's where i'll be spending most of my time...

i finished watching the first 2 seasons of 30 Rock again. it has officially surpassed The Office in my list of favorite things to watch. i also watched Wendy and Lucy, and Rachel Getting Married last night. both were pretty good (i preferred W&L), but horribly depressing.

somebody grab a camera.

i'm sitting in bed (fully clothed, though pants unbuttoned cause i ate too much cheese), crocheting a shawl (...for myself), watching season 1 of 30 Rock. again.

yikes.

and i am a happy girl.

rissa, i don't know how you found this.... and i don't know how i'll ever be able to thank you for it.

personal favorites:

(310): im at the bar and i misjudged a fart...go home or ride the night out?Never mind, the bouncer made the decision for me...be home soon

(859): I thought you should know that you passed out in your trash can last night.
(1-859): Thanks for throwing up on me.

(212): dude wtf did we explode in my microwave last night?
(1-212): idk but i think it had a face

(203): I'm sorry for everything. i woke up with two citations stapled to my shirt.

(619): Good news! Whoever used this stall at Target earlier...not pregnant!

(804): So how Liz Lemon is this? I bring a boy home, we get in bed, and I realize there's a lean pocket wrapper in the sheets.
