warning: dancing while driving through the snow is not encouraged.
so i *finally* got another job to fill in the gaps.
pros:
it's something i love doing
it pays a bit better
more hours
cons:
it's in denver (68 miles each way).
regardless, i'm excited.

recently finished Villa Incognito, by Tom Robbins, and A Long Way Down, by Nick Hornby.
both highly recommended.
starting The Time Traveler's Wife today. i'm almost giddy about it. i remember hearing the interview on Fresh Air about 2 years ago, making the mental note that i absolutely needed that book, and now it's finally in my hands. yay!
today:
picnic.
waiting.

70?
i didn't wear a coat today. or socks. in january!
i did, however, make a felt likeness of ingrid.
so it appears as if some of my wares will soon be available at a shop in downtown colorado springs. a girl from etsy is getting it up and running, and should be open for business in late march. i'm pretty excited! details soon...

all the real girls.
for the most part, it was a pretty corny movie. but then someone would say something awesome and it made the whole thing worth while. in general, it made me feel happy about feeling sad. which is less depressing than it sounds:
"I just want to make sure that a million years from now I can still see you up close and we'll still have amazing things to say."
"If anybody smiles at me ever again, I'm going to freak out. "
"Pretend you're standing over the ocean. You're a millionaire. Pretend you're running over the ocean. You're jumping across mountains. You're jumping across mountains. Everybody loves you. "

feeling a little spoiled.
for the third night in a week, i ate thai. unfortunately we tried a new place tonight and it was a little disappointing (the tofu was too squishy for my taste, and they neglected to put any pineapple in my "pineapple curry," but it was certainly the "thai hot" that i ordered...). i have so many leftovers from tonight to keep my tummy full for 2 more days.
i made a get-well-goose for leah today. she's having a bit of a rough week.

and, amazingly, with the support of my (entirely too generous) family, the incredible christmas shoppers on etsy, and my kickass landlord, it appears that i'll still be financially stable through the month of february. hooray!
also, leah gave me this the other day, which made me laugh like crazy:

also, i watched the rage in placid lake yesterday. it was really silly, but i liked it a lot.

almost a situation...
we drove up to denver today to pay a visit to tattered cover/ twist and shout, eat some delicious thai, and desperately try not to get snowed in.
it took about 3 times longer to get home than normal.
on the bright side, i've added house of leaves, the time traveler's wife, dead souls, and the prince and the pauper to my unread books pile. which is exciting.
also, i picked up that roll of 6x6 i was having developed. i'll be returning it for a more thorough cleaning before i post most of the images. as much as i like polka dots, i'd prefer not to have them on my negatives...
